Exercise of the month (09/2004)
Running Hurdles - One Leg (advanced)
(Legs - Calves)
1-
From a standing position place the height of
the hurdles at knee level (flat foot on the ground). Start the exercise standing
straight (abdominals tight and back straight)
on the ball of your feet at about one foot away from the hurdle. Keeping a
distance of about 3 feet between hurdles.
2- As you lift your left knee to pass the left foot over the hurdles,
move the right arm forward and the left arm backwards (elbow at 90° angle).
3- When your left foot passes the hurdle, attack the
ground and transfer your weight to your left foot.
4- Bring your right foot back beside the left foot and transfer
your weight over your right foot to redo the movement on the next hurdle.
5- Keep going for 6 to 8 hurdles.
